New York/ Los Angeles (May 4, 2012) -- MANOWAR and After Dark Films announced today that a track from the new, forthcoming MANOWAR album will be the theme song for the After Dark Action franchise film, EL GRINGO, an action Western starring Scott Adkins (The Expendables 2, The Bourne Ultimatum), Christian Slater and Yvette Yates (Without Men).

After Dark Action will showcase EL GRINGO and four other original, adrenaline-pumping films theatrically as a commercial film festival in US markets nationwide and on Video On Demand (VOD) on May 11.

Directed by Eduardo Rodriguez (Stash House) and written by Jonathan W. Stokes, EL GRINGO is about The Man who crosses into Mexico with a satchel of $2,000,000 cash, a bloody past and a plan to live out his remaining days on a beach.  Instead, he gets stuck waiting for a bus in El Fronteras, a sleepy desert town that’s so uninviting that – forget about the ocean – he can hardly find a glass of water.  Then, word of his money spreads to the underworld.  Under sudden attack from corrupt cops, gangsters, and desperados, The Man must push back his retirement plans, lock and load and save sleepy El Fronteras through a dizzying display of spectacular gunfights.

EL GRINGO marks the first time MANOWAR has written a song specifically for a movie. The song depicts the struggle of a hero torn between his moral code and financial gain, and the challenge of being true to oneself and the real values in life -- a recurring theme in MANOWAR’s music.

Helldorados aus Stuttgart unterschreiben einen weltweiten Plattenvertrag bei Massacre Records.

Album VÖ für 13. Juli 2012 geplant.

Die Stuttgarter Sleaze Metal Band Helldorados unterschreiben einen weltweiten Plattenvertrag bei Massacre Records/ Soulfood, nachdem die im letzten Jahr in den Horus Sound Studios in Hannover produzierte Promotion EP deutschlandweit sehr positive Kritiken bekommen hat. Die Veröffentlichung ist für Freitag, den 13. Juli 2012 geplant.

Erst im Februar 2011 nahmen Helldorados in den legendären Horus Sound Studios in Hannover, unter der Leitung von Produzent Mirko Hofmann, eine 4-Songs starke Promotion EP auf. Als „Pate“ fungierte Altmeister und Gründer der Horus Studios, Frank Bornemann. Der ELOY Frontman war von Anfang an begeistert vom Sound, der Eigenständigkeit und der konsequenten Arbeitsweise des Stuttgarter Quartetts. Damit reihen sich Helldorados in die Liste der Bands, die dort einige ihrer wichtigsten Alben aufnahmen: Scorpions, Kreator, Helloween, Victory, Guano Apes und Revolverheld, um nur einige zu nennen.

“Gutes Selbst- und Zeitmanagement schließt Kreativität nicht aus. Wir haben die letzten 24 Monate wirklich jeden Tag sehr hart für diesen nächsten logischen Schritt gearbeitet,“erzählen Pierre (vocals), Steve (guitars), Gunnar (bass) und Chris (drums). Die Zeiten als Newcomer Unsummen von finanziellen Vorschüssen bekommen haben, sind definitiv vorbei. Heutzutage ist es selbstverständlich, ein herausragendes Grundprodukt in der Tasche zu haben um weitere Partner zu gewinnen, ist sich Pierre sicher. Mit dem Plattenvertrag beim Abstatter Traditionslabel Massacre Records wird ein neues Kapitel in der Bandgeschichte aufgeschlagen. „Wir freuen uns sehr auf die Zusammenarbeit mit einer so hoch motivierten und charakteristisch beeindruckenden Band wie Helldorados“,so A&R Manager Thomas Hertler.

Weniger Sex, Drugs and Rock’n‘Roll sondern vielmehr Blood, Sweat and Tears mussten Helldorados seit den Anfangstagen 2007 erleben. Zunächst gewann man den Wolle Kriwanek Preis für die „Beste Bühnenperformance“ und ein Jahr später verkaufte die Band 500 Exemplare ihres ersten Albums “Just Rock” im Eigenvertrieb. Es folgten über 100 Shows in Deutschland und dem benachbarten Ausland (u.a. mit Bullet, Enforcer, Rhino Bucket, Bloodlights oder Die Happy) sowie Gala Auftritte z.B. zur Fußball-EM auf der historischen Bregenzer Seebühne. Zusätzlich ging man erste Partnerschaften u.a. mit der Dinkelacker-Schwaben Bräu Brauerei, der englischen Fotografen Ikone Duncan Smith und ab 2011 mit der Wacken Stiftung in Schleswig-Holstein ein. Die durch das bekannte Open Air Festival benannte Stiftung unterstützte die Band auch finanziell nachdem es keine weitere bundesweite Förderung gab und die familiären Eigenmittel zur Neige gingen. Als weiterer Businesspartner kam 2010 die Veranstalterlegende Olaf Danner (25 Jahre Konzertdirektion SKS Michael Russ GmbH, jetzt Geschäftsführer der Pool Group Süd GmbH) als Co-Manager mit an Board. Instrumentenpartner wie Steve Clayton, Pyramid Saiten oder Dr. No Effects konnten ebenfalls gewonnen werden. Zudem wurde ein Merchandise Lizenzdeal mit dem Dortmunder Traditionsunternehmen Art Worx abgeschlossen.

Die hochwertige Produktion und das energiegeladene Songwriting der Promotion EP bescherte Helldorados erste mediale Aufmerksamkeit in allen relevanten Online Fanzines sowie Artikel in den einschlägigen Magazinen. RockHard Vol.296 “… präsentiert sich das Stuttgarter Quartett spätestens mit der Ballade Changes und dem abschließenden Shout Out als durchaus ernstzunehmender Anwärter auf den nationalen Rockthron” oder Metal Hammer April 2012 “… das hört man den vier Tracks jeder Sekunde an, die EP überzeugt mit ausgereiften Songs plus großen Melodien… Liebe A&Rs der Nation – bitte schlagen Sie zu. Jetzt!” Gleichzeitig spielten diverse Radiosender wie z.B. die neue 107.7, Radio Regenbogen oder SWR DASDING die Songs ohne dass die Band ein vollständiges Album auf dem Markt hatte. „Wir sehen uns weiterhin als Band in der Nische und freuen uns deshalb umso mehr über die breite Aufmerksamkeit. Alles was jetzt kommt ist sowieso Add-On,“ so Helldorados Gitarrist Steve.

Helldorados sind musikalisch irgendwo zwischen dem Hitpotenzial eines ABBA Ohrwurms, dem Dreck von Guns N’ Roses und der Durchschlagskraft von Pantera einzuordnen. Eine kuriose Mischung, die zu funktionieren scheint.
